Short answer: Confirmed GTA VI is announced for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The US PlayStation Store also marks its PS5 listing “PS5 Pro Enhanced.” Not announced No other platform appears in the checked lineup as of September 25, 2026.

“PS5 Pro Enhanced” is the wording shown by the PlayStation Store. It does not, by itself, specify a resolution, frame rate, or graphics mode. Older consoles and Switch

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced versions for PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch so far. The platform listings name only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is the practical answer for anyone asking whether an older console is supported at launch.

A store listing for an earlier GTA game does not make GTA VI available on that hardware. The GTA V comparison explains why the older game’s platform history should not be transferred to the new title. If you are choosing hardware now, use the published GTA VI lineup.

PC status

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC version yet (as of September 25, 2026). Take-Two’s August 7 schedule lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, even while it lists PC for Judas in the same table. Its general comments about PC opportunities are company-wide and do not announce a GTA VI port.

What this means for buying

Analysis If you already own an announced console, compare editions on its store and check the account region before purchase. The US and UK prices we verified are PlayStation digital prices, so do not apply them automatically to Xbox. The pre-order guide explains bonus eligibility and the November 12 pre-load window.

Analysis If your only system is PS4, Xbox One, Switch, or PC, wait for a direct official announcement before buying software or hardware on the assumption that a new version is coming. Our launch checklist lists the steps supported by current information.

What hasn’t been announced

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced additional platforms, performance modes, frame-rate targets, resolution targets, or a game download size yet (as of September 25, 2026). The PS5 Pro label should not be turned into a technical claim beyond the label itself.

Read the store labels narrowly

Analysis The platform list and the technical details answer different questions. “PS5” identifies an announced version. “PS5 Pro Enhanced” is a PlayStation Store label attached to that version. Neither phrase tells us how many frames per second the game will run, what resolution it will use, or which modes will be offered. Those details need explicit technical information from Rockstar or a platform holder.

The same caution applies to Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar names the family in its announcement, but the dossier contains no console-specific comparison between Series X and Series S. A shared release date does not prove identical rendering or download sizes. If a hardware purchase depends on a particular performance target, wait for an official specification rather than projecting from another game. The confirmed fact today is compatibility with the announced console families. The table above is intended to answer that purchasing question directly.

For households with more than one console, check the store account and version named at checkout. The platform announcement identifies where GTA VI is coming; purchase terms belong to the specific store listing in your region.
