Short answer: Confirmed GTA VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with digital pre-loading from November 12. Choose your platform and edition, check the bonus window, and wait for an official download size before planning storage.

First, make the purchase decisions

Confirmed Compare Standard and Ultimate. On the US and UK PlayStation Stores, Standard is $79.99/£69.99 and Ultimate is $99.99/£89.99. Ultimate adds the listed upgrade bundle.
Analysis Choose Ultimate only if its named extras matter to you. Rockstar has not established a gameplay advantage from them.

Prepare your console and account

Analysis Keep your console software and platform account current before the pre-load window. This is general preparation, not a special GTA VI technical requirement. Confirm that the account used for purchase is the one you will use on the console, and review any subscription terms attached to a digital order. Rockstar says the included GTA+ month auto-renews.

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced the download or storage size yet (as of September 25, 2026). Wait for Rockstar or your platform store to publish it, then check available storage. Do not rely on estimates circulating without an official source. Likewise, the PS5 Pro Enhanced store label does not tell us a frame rate or resolution target.

Set your own spoiler boundaries

Analysis If you prefer to discover the story yourself, filter GTA VI terms on social platforms and limit notifications before November 19. Check the age-rating status

Not announced GTA VI did not have an ESRB entry at our September 25 check, and the PlayStation FAQ said its age ratings were unconfirmed. A prior game’s rating is not this game’s rating. What hasn’t been announced

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC edition, launch hour, file size, performance mode, or GTA VI online mode yet (as of September 25, 2026). None is needed to complete the confirmed steps above. Recheck official sources near launch because store listings and schedules can change.

Keep confirmed information separate from estimates

Analysis A useful launch plan has two columns: what is dated now and what needs a later check. The current game date, announced consoles, edition contents and November 12 pre-load start belong in the first column. Download size, exact unlock hour, performance targets and age rating belong in the second. Putting an estimate into the first column can cause practical trouble: you might clear the wrong amount of storage or plan around an unlock time Rockstar has never given.

Make one final official-source pass before launch. Compare Rockstar’s game page with the store listing for your account region. If a rating or file size has appeared, use that current listing to make your decision. If not, leave it marked unknown. For anyone buying as a gift, the unconfirmed rating deserves particular attention.
