GTA 6 editions and prices: Standard versus Ultimate

These are digital PlayStation Store prices for the two regions, checked September 25. They are not a claim about every retailer, physical copy, or Xbox storefront. What both editions include

Confirmed Both PlayStation edition listings include Grand Theft Auto VI, the Vintage Vice City Pack, one month of GTA+, and a seven-day pre-load window. Rockstar says all pre-orders and purchases before November 20 receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Its contents are a ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court garage in Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a tropical weapon-pattern skin.

The GTA+ month is attached to digital pre-orders in Rockstar’s announcement. The subscription auto-renews, so review its terms and your account settings if you do not want to continue after the included month. Our pre-order guide covers the dates and eligibility wording. The game’s current release date is November 19, while pre-loading starts November 12.

Everything in the Ultimate Edition Upgrade

Confirmed Rockstar presents the Ultimate bonuses as items found through Jason and Lucia’s story. The official list includes the following; the names below identify announced content, not a claim about when or how each item becomes available.

• ’95 Grotti Cheetah vehicle.
• Hawk and Little Morgan Revolvers, plus personalized Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols.
• Exclusive outfits and tattoos under “Vice City Style.”
• Jason’s Dinka Enduro motorcycle and Crest Kayak.
• Vapid Ganado retro modkit.
• Rideout Customs mod shop and Sara’s Unisex Salon.
• Shitzu Squalo watercraft and Stock 305 clothing store.
• ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and Paradise Garage in Watson Bay.
• Electric Fang Tattoo shop, with art by the collective FAILE.
• One-Eyed Willie’s mod shop at Lake Leonida.
• Goodtime Gear apparel capsule themed around Macca the Gator.
• PTT Youngin$ Illegal Goods Store gang-compound raid.
• “Classic Car Collection” special commission from fixer Wyman.

The list mixes vehicles, shops, clothing, weapons, property and a named activity. Rockstar has not provided a full mechanical explanation for each bonus in the material checked here. The Watson Bay garage is distinct from the Shore Court garage included through the Vintage Vice City Pack. Is there a physical Ultimate Edition?

Confirmed No. Rockstar’s support article on GTA VI platforms, editions, and versions states plainly: “A physical version of the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition is not available.” A physical purchase is always the Standard Edition, and the box contains a download code rather than a disc.

Rockstar’s support article also confirms that physical Standard Edition owners aren’t locked out of the Ultimate content: once their code is redeemed, they can buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft store. So the practical path for a shelf buyer who later wants the Ultimate items is redeem, then upgrade digitally, not hunt for a physical Ultimate box that doesn’t exist.

Is the Ultimate Edition worth it?

Analysis That depends on how much the named upgrade items matter to you, not on any promised gameplay advantage. The Ultimate list is long, but Rockstar frames the bonuses as story-threaded extras rather than tools that change difficulty or progression. If you mainly want to play Jason and Lucia’s story, Standard delivers the full game with the same pre-order pack and pre-load terms.

Ultimate suits a player who specifically wants the named vehicles, shops, outfits, and the Classic Car Collection commission, and who’s comfortable paying the $20 or £20 PlayStation difference for them upfront. It’s a weaker case if you’re undecided about the game itself, since Standard buyers can add the Ultimate Edition Upgrade digitally later, on their own schedule, rather than committing to it at pre-order. Neither path is objectively better; it’s a question of whether the specific bonus list is worth the specific price gap to you.

Which edition makes sense?

Analysis Standard is the straightforward choice if you want the game and do not want to pay for the announced upgrade items. It still carries the same listed pre-order pack and pre-load terms on PlayStation. Ultimate makes sense if those specific extras are worth the $20 or £20 difference to you. The official descriptions establish the contents, but they do not prove that Ultimate will make the story easier or faster.

Do not confuse Ultimate Edition with The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection. The latter is a separate merchandise Collector’s Box, and Rockstar explicitly says the game is sold separately. Our launch checklist can help you make the edition decision without guessing at technical details.

What hasn’t been announced

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced a PC edition or a PC price yet (as of September 25, 2026). The dossier also does not verify Xbox edition prices. No claim about storage requirements, frame rate, or the value of a bonus in gameplay can be supported from these listings.

Check the offer before paying

Analysis A sensible comparison starts with the base game, then the items you would actually use. The Ultimate list is long, but its length alone does not establish value for every player. Someone interested mainly in Jason and Lucia’s story can buy Standard and still receive the listed game. Someone who wants the named cars, shops, clothes and commissions can compare the $20 or £20 PlayStation difference with that exact bundle. Neither choice can be justified by an invented claim about faster progress.

The listing region matters too. Our figures are the US and UK PlayStation prices retrieved on September 25, not a currency conversion or permanent price guarantee. The GTA+ month is a subscription promotion on digital pre-orders and auto-renews, so it deserves a separate account-settings check. The Vintage Vice City Pack has its own eligibility deadline, covering purchases before November 20. A bonus in an edition listing and a separate subscription term should be read individually at checkout.
