Short answer: Not announced Rockstar has not published a GTA VI download size. The PlayStation Store US and Xbox Store US listings show no GB figure as of September 25, 2026, and viral numbers circulating online aren’t sourced to either official listing.

What the official store listings show

Confirmed Checking both the PlayStation Store US and Xbox Store US product pages for Grand Theft Auto VI on September 25, 2026 turned up no file size or storage requirement anywhere on either page. The PlayStation listing states “PS5,” a “PS5 Pro Enhanced” badge, offline play, and Remote Play support. The Xbox listing states “Optimized for Xbox Series X|S,” a count of supported languages, and a pending rating line. Neither page mentions gigabytes in any form.

That absence is itself the current, checkable answer. It doesn’t mean the game will be small or huge; it means neither storefront had published a number as of this check.

About the viral file-size numbers

When will the size become visible?

Confirmed Rockstar’s support article on GTA VI platforms, editions, and versions states that pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026, for redeemed codes. Once pre-loading opens, the download itself should appear in your platform’s download queue or library, which is typically where a real file size becomes visible for the first time — well ahead of the November 19 launch. Physical copies still need the full download

Confirmed Rockstar’s support article confirms the physical version of GTA VI contains a download code, not a disc: “A disc will not be included in the box.” That means physical buyers install the same download as digital buyers once the code is redeemed, so a printed box offers no shortcut around whatever the eventual file size turns out to be.
