Short answer: Confirmed Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Digital pre-loading for eligible pre-orders and sales of physical copies begin November 12, 2026.

The current release date

Confirmed Rockstar’s current GTA VI page names November 19, 2026, as the launch date. Take-Two’s August 2026 product schedule lists the same date and the same two console platforms. The PlayStation Store listing also shows November 19. These are the official dates available at our September 25 check.

The date applies to the game, while November 12 is the start of the pre-load window. Rockstar’s support article on GTA VI platforms, editions, and versions confirms pre-load “will begin at local midnight on November 12, 2026” for redeemed codes. It also says physical copies, which contain a download code in the box, will be available to buy from November 12 to support pre-loading. Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced a launch hour so far. A calendar date does not establish when the game will unlock in each time zone. Check the store listing tied to your account when launch gets closer rather than assuming a midnight release.

Has GTA 6 been delayed again?

Confirmed No. As of September 25, 2026, no further delay has been announced. November 19, 2026, is the current date on Rockstar’s GTA VI page, and it matches Take-Two Interactive’s August 7, 2026 product schedule. GTA VI has moved twice before, both times through a dated Rockstar announcement rather than a leak or a quiet change, and the table below covers both moves briefly.

Those are three announcements, not three different editions or regional release dates. The first was a broad 2025 window. The next two were dated changes from Rockstar itself. No further delay had been announced by our September 25, 2026 check. If an unofficial countdown conflicts with the current Rockstar page, use the Rockstar date.

Platforms and the pre-launch calendar

Confirmed PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are the announced platforms. The PlayStation Store also labels the PS5 listing “PS5 Pro Enhanced,” without supplying a frame-rate or resolution promise. What hasn’t been announced

How to verify a date change

Analysis Release dates can be repeated long after an announcement changes. For this game, the safest order is Rockstar’s current GTA VI page, a dated Rockstar Newswire announcement, and the current platform storefront. A clip from Trailer 1 is valuable historical evidence for the original 2025 plan, but it cannot override the later November 2025 announcement. Take-Two’s August 2026 release table provides another current check because it pairs the November 19 date with the platform list.

Keep the game date separate from adjacent dates. November 12 concerns pre-loading and sales of the download-code physical version; November 19 is the scheduled launch; November 20 is the cutoff language for the Vintage Vice City Pack. Those dates answer different questions. Rockstar has not specified the exact hour the game unlocks, so time-zone countdowns need an official store notice before they can be treated as reliable. If the date changes, we will update the checked note and the timeline rather than silently replacing its history.
