ViceLens illustration — not game footage

Short answer: Confirmed GTA VI is set in Leonida, and Rockstar has named six regions: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga. Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced the map’s size yet (as of September 25, 2026).

Leonida’s six named regions, including the Leonida Keys

Rockstar’s “Only in Leonida” page presents six region panels with short taglines. These are official names and descriptions, not a measured map or a claim that the list is exhaustive. The state provides the setting for Jason and Lucia’s story, which Rockstar says spans Leonida after an easy score goes wrong.

Region Rockstar tagline What Rockstar describes
Vice City Confirmed Everything in Excess City with Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka flea market, and VC Port.
Leonida Keys Confirmed Gateway to Paradise Tropical archipelago with an easier pace.
Grassrivers Confirmed Welcome to the Wetlands Wetland and mangrove expanse.
Port Gellhorn Confirmed Live Hard A former vacation coast marked by cheap motels and shuttered attractions.
Ambrosia Confirmed Keeping Leonida Sweet Home to the Allied Crystal sugar refinery and a local biker gang.
Mount Kalaga Confirmed Wild, Wild Country Northern border landmark with hunting, fishing, and off-road trails.

How to read the official geography

Analysis Rockstar’s descriptions show a mix of urban, coastal, wetland and northern settings. They tell us the kinds of places the studio wants to introduce, but not their precise boundaries, travel times, or how much of each place is explorable. The panels provide names and descriptions, without a map scale.

Vice City gets more named local places than the other panels. For a closer look at Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, Tisha-Wocka, and VC Port, use our Vice City neighborhood guide. The character guide explains which official bios connect people to the city and the Keys.

The Leonida map poster

Confirmed Rockstar’s separate merchandise Collector’s Box includes a double-sided souvenir poster with a map of Leonida. That is a named physical item in the box, not an official numeric map-size announcement. The box arrives November 19 and the game is sold separately. Our Collector’s Box guide lists the other contents and the regional availability caveat.

Analysis A printed map can help illustrate the fictional state, but until Rockstar publishes details, it should not be used to calculate playable area or compare square mileage with another game. Scale, access and gameplay boundaries would require evidence beyond the item description.

What hasn’t been announced

Not announced Rockstar hasn’t announced a numeric map size, a complete list of locations, or travel times yet (as of September 25, 2026). Those figures cannot be inferred from a trailer frame or souvenir poster. For the game’s firm release and platform information, visit our date guide and platform guide.

Names are more useful than size estimates

Analysis The six panels give readers a practical vocabulary for official announcements. If a later Rockstar post mentions Grassrivers or Ambrosia, there is already an official description to attach to the name. The panels also show that Vice City is one part of a larger state rather than the only named setting. They do not say how the spaces connect, which routes are available, or how much of each region can be visited.

Numeric map comparisons often look precise while relying on unverified image measurements. The souvenir poster makes such calculations tempting, but its announcement says only that a double-sided map is included in the Collector’s Box. It does not supply scale or playable boundaries. We therefore keep the poster fact separate from map-size questions. Once Rockstar publishes an official measurement or the game is available for direct examination, the comparison can be revisited with evidence appropriate to the claim.

Each region description has a different emphasis: Vice City foregrounds urban excess, the Keys an island setting, Grassrivers wetlands, Port Gellhorn a declining coast, Ambrosia industry, and Mount Kalaga northern wilderness. These are Rockstar’s themes, not measured gameplay zones. The names can orient readers without implying every place has the same scope or activities.
